Point of order: Reincarnation, especially how it's commonly used in Anime, falls under the Isekai banner regardless of where the MC is reincarnated to or from.
And that's a great deal of the pointlessness of Isekai. If someone being reincarnated or being brought from another world doesn't change the story for better or worse... why is it necessary?
"I was a salaryman in Toky-" Just start out as a kid living on a farm!
"We have to summon the Great Heroe-" Start the Anime from the Priests' perspective and don't even say where the Heroes came from!
Then why are you mad about a plot point that is in your eyes pointless?
Also i named many without reincarnation/isekai (wich is not the same at all) its just from this season.
Mad is the wrong word to use.
I support the notion that Isekai is an oversaturated genre, when actual fantasy takes one less step and would do the job just as well.
I mean yes but remember the target audience, the target audience is in Japan and many of the Japanese people are kinda depressed if not borderline suicidal, isekai is basically a way to flee reality. This goes for the authors and the audience alike, they really don't like our world.
For the same world reincarnation thats usually a bigger plot point and has more meaning.
For the very rare case of fantasy world to fantasy world... Thats either completely irrelevant or very very relevant, no in-between, wich is funny.
