I have been a sardie and kipper convert for many years now. You are singing my song. Tuna can get in the bin.
One of these days (if you are very good) I shall confide at least some of the secrets of baccala. Which is fish bacon or as close as anything can be to that. Your world will be changed. Not as cheap as sardies though.

Also I agree re: tuna. How is that the most popular tinned fish??? Is garbage. Sure it's macronutrients are good... But the taste and texture is so lame comparatively

The only decent tinned tuna is Sirena. When they're half price at the supermarket you pounce on them like a cat.

Candied salmon? An improvement on candied tuna, but not by much. Give me sardies or herring any day. I will accept tinned red salmon in a tray bake or as part of a starry gazey pie. In a salad? Maybe.
