How long do you think the delay have to be? 5 minutes?

That would probably be reasonable. I'm thinking about flinching, or using a cannon in a single combat area. It'd be annoying if cannonballs were being wasted because the damage they did reset before you got to that monster. Maybe the 5 minute timer would only start once you had left the area?
