Well, I use WhatsApp and some other close source app. I have to go manually download APKs and install it.

Wait WhatsApp works on degoogled phones? I heard they started banning custom ROM users recently and degoogled ROMs can't be spoofed to look exactly like stock ones so isn't that dangerous?
I de-googled my device by removing GAPPS for user0.
Take a backup of whatsapp on working device and restore it on your degoogled device
Nah I'd better stay away from that piece of spyware but thanks for the advice
