Would someone generously explain so that I may partake in the funny?

The first 3 images are foods the author believes are dipped in batter. The last image is of U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, whose party lost quite heavily in the recent elections.

That's former U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

Thanks! I didn't know if he was officially out yet.

We don't do the job title election thing here. I haven't looked at the mechanics since school, but I think he's no longer pm once the parliament is dissolved for the election and even if he won technically wouldn't be again until the new lot are sworn in by the king.

All over but the shouting.

How are you different from a mebibyte?

I'm the same, you're correct.

Someone thinks you have to batter churros when they're really more of a fried dough.

They're basically long funnel cake.

Images 2 (onion rings), and 3 (fish) are of battered food (though #1 seems to be churros which aren't battered).

Image 4 shows the grotesque Lego minifig Rishi Sunak who was, until today, the UK prime minister. In the UK to be battered also means to be beaten beyond mercy.

Rishi Sunak was beaten without mercy in the UK General Election. Ha-hah!
