That's not a valid excuse. We didn't accept it when the nazis said they were just following orders, and we won't accept it now.

Probably would be easier to say when did we not?

The most notable example that comes to mind is the guy who perpetrated the My Lai massacre getting house arrest, that only happened because of leaked documents going public.

But it's not the only one. Our soldiers love to take selfies with human trophies, and nothing meaningful happens when they do.
