Oh no, a wrong spider ID online? Where did they post those?
Those disgusting spider communitues on other instances ... there are so many of them though, which one? Which one?

The comment was sufficently downvoted. But that doesn't apply to everyone. Some UI's or even instances don't even have downvotes.
So should you remove these comments anyway or post a correction? See ... that's why I don't want to be a mod.

That was my post; I appreciate your efforts.
I can recognize pholcidae and salticidae by shape, and the big female widows, and the one Olios Giganteus who comes thundering around the house every year, but beyond that I'm more of a "I just want to cram the Nikon in the corner and fill up the storage card" type of arachnology enthusiast. ::::)
Typically posting a correction is enough. You can also warn the user, something like this:
Most users are surprisingly reasonable if the mod is reasonable with them.
