I saw a Bluesky post that said Americans think a small group of people choose national candidates. It was by a clever liberal so at first I thought he was being snarky and making fun of his own followers. But when he replied in the comments I realized his post wasn't ironic. It was 100% unironic. He actually has American civil religion brain.

I've seen his posts for years and it makes me laugh that it was only that day that I realized he's a shitlib. I've never seen him say anything about "The West Wing" - but I decided right then he's surely a fan boy.

This Biden situation really has brought out the shitlibs would can't resist using social media to lecture people on how things actually work and/or need to work.

a big takeaway from all of the Biden drama is that huge swathes of the public — including reasonably engaged people — think that political parties are a small cabal of elites who select candidates by hand
