It's not only individual species, but entire ecosystems that are collapsing.

I think we need to seriously start thinking about transplanting for example coral reefs into locations with a colder climate, although it will probably not help much in that specific case as the acidification of the ocean that makes it hard for the corals to form their exoskeleton is global issue.

And I get downvotes for perhaps suggesting that planting only endemic natives isn't the smartest idea.

Yeah, nature conservationists can be a bit odd in that regard sometimes. I mean yes, planting invasive species without thinking about it is bad, but hey, we can do better than that 👍

Trying to recreate an actively collapsing biosphere may* be an exercise in futility.

In Australia, we call it "pre-clearing"; recreating the environment the day before the ships hit the beach. Climate change need not apply.
