They're not committing genocide, they're technically committing ethnic cleansing.

Read the definitions.

Genocide is the destruction of a culture, or ethnicity, in whole, or in part.

This has lead to the forced dispersal of these groups to be labeled as genocides, as well as, forced conversion from their cultural and ethnic roots.

So forcing people to flee their land, forcing them into schools designed to cut them from their culture and language, etc. have been recognized as forms of genocide.
