Perez always will be best of the rest of top 4 team drivers, so his ranking here is not suprising.

I was suprised that he didn't get jumped by Hulkenberg on this grid too, with way he has been performing.

Perez is under pressure this weekend. He needs to win the race for Red Bull with Verstappen having a significant grid drop in regards to engine parts. If Verstappen can get some points he'll have a good result, so it's up to Perez to compensate.

If Perez crashes out again at a crucial time, his seat will be lost for next year if not for this year. Maybe putting Lawson in and getting him up to speed fast is worth more to Red Bull than Perez fighting with Hulk for P9 - P10.

Perez will be out after the summer break even if he doesn’t crash.

I think they will put Ricciardo in the seat for the rest of the season, he's performing equally to Tsunoda but will probably be able to handle the stress much better. Putting Lawson directly in the Red Bull is probably too much of a risk

I'm amazed that you think Ricciardo is performing at an equal level as Tsunoda. Then I checked and it seemed for the last 5 races or so Ricciardo finished higher. Quite surprising, I basically wrote Ricciardo off ages ago!

Anyway, Ricciardo had it difficult after not being able to perform in McLaren. Not exactly sure if he's able to handle pressure still. Finishing slightly better than Tsunoda for a few races isn't that impressive to me.

Agreed.

Quite curious as to what is going to happen. There's (was?) a power struggle in Red Bull, seems different people there have different drivers as their preference. They seem to be stubborn.

Ricciardo seems much happier and confident now. I'm not wildly impressed either, but I believe he's a solid option right now. I think Tsunoda is just too much of a hot head for the Red Bull
