United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I don't want to hear anything bad about Tony Hart, Johnny Morris, Johnny Ball, or Brian Cant. Oh, or John Noakes. All the others are a bit sus though.
How bad is "bad" here?
A quick wikipediaing suggests climate change denial which is disappointing but I can live with it. Plus something about Strictly and accusing a dancer of faking an injury. Is that it?
It's mainly the climate change denial that annoys me as a lot of kids got their love of science and maths from him. However, I find the complaining about CRB checks to be a concern - I can't see any reason why he'd object to them.
The main pain with CRB checks is having to go through it for every thing. You can't just apply once and get the certificate and I don't think the organisation your applying from makes a material difference to the checks that are done.
There are also good cops 🤡
