I've had the same Razor mouse for over 10 years. It helps if you clean them occasionally, don't throw them at the walls, and pay for a good quality one to begin with.

The mice I've had in the past that tend to break have always been wireless mice, the wired ones I've never been an issue.

Yeah, they already kind of last forever if you take care of them. No need to pay any more money. I used a logitech mx1000 for about 10 years, it didn't fully die, but it was getting there. That was through my world of warcraft years. Since then I've been on a logitech g500s, also about 10 years now. I still only have to clean it about once every 2 years when it starts double clicking or not holding a click randomly. Turns out without world of warcraft they last even longer. To "clean" it, I just mash the buttons for about 10 seconds then shake the mouse upside down. Do that a couple times, then wipe up what fell out. Good as new for another 2 years or so.
