Good. His story is complete. He should be involved at least tangentially in the world if we're in a similar timeframe but otherwise it needs to focus on a new protagonist.

Weiters refusing to let completed character stories actually be finished in sequels is annoying. It's a crutch indicative of poor writing. It happens in Hollywood all the time, and we get subpar sequels because of it. Games need to avoid that death spiral, they're not as beholden to actor name recognition the same way Hollywood is. Voice actors often have a lot more range because they're masters of manipulating their voice and the character model can look like whatever it needs to.

You could even have the same voice actor voice the new protagonist.
