The Nissan Ariya is a revolutionary car for the automaker—or, it has the opportunity to be. I just wish more people knew about it.

The Ariya is Nissan’s first all-new electric car since the Leaf, which debuted in 2010 with a starting price of about $30,000. The Leaf was the first mass-produced EV in history, and it’s been integral to Nissan’s modern car history because it was electric, widely availabe, and affordable. But the Leaf is old now, and as EV technology evolves—and the market expands to more expensive, cushier offerings—a model like the Ariya is necessary for Nissan’s EV business to stay relevant.

Tell us why. What is revolutionary about it? I dont think i have noticed one on the road. Or seen one in person. Nearly every other ev except for maybe the Toyota xrv3c*&# i have seen and admired. Where the heck is the Ariya? Why no advertisement campaign? I currently drive an 11 year old Leaf. Limited range but great little car. Would love Nissan if they had a battery upgrade plan for older evs. Nissan seems to consistently ignore or be embarrassed of their electric vehicles.

The article does tell you what they like about it.

It has a luxury feel, solid range and performance. Its priced at an "EV" reasonable range between 40-50k.

They have a video review as well if you want to see what they like about it in live action.

That sounds like the status quo, not a revolution.
