The quality of the football is much more important than where players are from and whether they have team pride or not. The business aspect is necessary to produce good, competitive football. It's the media that wants to turn the contract negotiations into a song and dance and it is the viewers that let them.
If Aiyuk can be the consummate 49ers WR while not wanting to be a 49er, then we have nothing to be upset about. He has been showing up and being a good teammate. I think Aiyuk wants to be one of the top paid WRs in the league AND be a 49er.
I like the idea of the 49ers being made up of people from all over; all coming together for one goal, for the chance to be part of a team that goes after the highest award in all of sports, the Lombardi Trophy.
