Bullshit, home brewers have been for ages making better lager beer at home, the commercial space they want highly efficient yeast and get as high as possible efficiency, sometimes close to 100%, they also mix corn or maize as another startch, where home brewers get closer to 70% efficiency, use a variety of yeasts, like 100s if not 1000s of available strains, to make amazing beer including lagers that will blow the average non craft beer drinkers mind.

Commercial lager beer tastes like shit because it is made as cheaply as possible. That's why it must be icy cold to numb your taste buds or you taste the horrible taste once it gets Luke warm. Real beer usually is not served icy cold, but closer to 5-8°C so that you can taste the aromas
