Well you guys creamed the Giants but that is a puzzling move to trade Cousins for Sam Darnold who was a backup QB. I guess they are basically committed to a building year? But look what happened to the 9ers when Trey Lance and Jimmy G got injured and we were stuck with what looked like a building year…a nice young man called Purdy emerged.

I think moving on from Cousins was the right move, though I have to hold down my negativity about him because he performed far better than I thought he would for us. With that, my understanding is the kind of money and duration he was wanting for a new contract, just didn't make sense. Especially coming off a year ending injury and his age. I really like what we saw from Darnold yesterday, maybe just maybe he is salvageable for the time we need him.

That makes sense. Darnold could certainly have some great play left in him if the rest of the offense is good.
