Know Your Meme has reasonably complete coverage.
This has actually helped a lot.
I never understood the criticism people make of "maybe focus on the engine instead of making bad tweets" as in the social media manager is ALSO the lead coder or something?
At no point does putting out a tweet change how fast someone unrelated takes to code something.
Honestly this was my biggest takeaway, what fucking moron of an engineer thinks the guy running the twitter account has anything to do with bugfixes
Clearly bigots looking for any excuse to fight in the culture war. 30 years ago we had SJWs, now we just have CWs.
Even if it was the lead coder, the 30 seconds needed to post a tweet aren't going to make that much of a difference on fixing a major bug.
fuck am I really unironically going to Know Your Meme for news now??????????
...this is a weird timeline
knowyourmeme, the hero we need, but don't deserve.
When the world becomes a joke the only reliable way to be informed is to "know your meme".
LMAO most of the industry runs on a pre-built engine, what a loser
Very good summary. The only thing missing is a mention that in the aftermath a Godot fork called Redot was created and it's twitter account gained 17k followers in 2 days.
Cool. Let's see how that goes.
My guess is that at best they're going to mirror all the merges happening in the main godot repo with the only difference being the custom branding, but even that they will probably lose interest after a few months and peter out. I highly doubt there's going to be any unique developments or improvements. And even if they do? The main Godot repo could just yoink them right back lol.
