It is, but it's so apt at describing their poor misguided troll army. If I were a Russian propagandist I'd laugh everyday about how easy it is to pull marionette strings. With even an once of self reflection any poor sucker could pull themselves out of the pot.
Don’t forget that the use of Pepe as well as the ok symbol were literally 4chan troll campaigns that the nazis took to like a duck to water. I remember the origin posts being posted to reddit and just watching it work in real time. It was quite surreal.
I've not seen any far right pepe usage in literally years. But I have seen normal pepe usage being referred to as being far right.
Not accusing you of that, just anecdotally have not at all seen any kind of obsession
