He could have just not shown up to the inauguration. He could have declared a state of emergency. He could have taken control of the military. He could have done any number of things, but he didn't. Instead, he stepped down when the time came. That's not a dictatorial thing to do when you have power.
Oh yeah, and Trump wanted to protect the Capitol Building.

OK, Trump didn't have people in the right spots to accomplish his dictatorial overthrow. This is why we are hearing from the generals from the Trump admin saying he wanted them to be like Hitlers generals, they were the lynch pin of the plot. You can't be a dictatorship when the military will say fuck you.
There are appropriate number of people that should be used hence why 350 were used. They were also not expecting the crowd from trumps rally to head to the capitol because Trump told them to.

Every soldier I've seen discussing the presidents has said they'd take Trump over Biden. And why didn't these generals sound the alarm about Trump's apparent passion for Hitler during the last election?
