I never get this argument, there's no extinguish because the Fediverse'll just go back to what it was before Facebook attempts to extinguish it. People talk about custom protocols or something, but Hexbear is running on a different version of Lemmy and despite how jarring the experience is there, It's not due to the code they're running.
