I guess in black and white, this effect doesn't really come across. I assume that the candy search is when the candy is buried in flour or powdered sugar and you have to find it without using your hands.
Honestly, I have read versions of these events so many times in manga and I wish that any of the schools I went to in the US did anything fun like this. Our special event days basically only consisted of basketball games and foot races. There was never silly stuff like this.
I did it. Once. Done more in private schools. Sad.
Mostly same, but football (also known as soccer)
My school never held any big events like this one either (except for the recruitment open days, but those were entirely voluntary and mostly relegated to clubs) but I'm with Bocchi on this, those evens are hell for introverted socially anxious people, so I'm kinda glad we didn't. We did have a multiple days long class trip once and surviving that was a trial already!
