So the guy went there for the first time and because he got ill, he couldn't leave the country (having to spend thousands of pounds to be able to leave) and for some reason, he decided he didn't have enough of that shithole and returned?

Sometimes it's reaaaaaally hard to not think some people deserve what happens to them.
