Oh I'm glad we agree! Loving parents do indeed encourage to express themselves rather than beat them into submission to ensure conformity.
Look at you being all progressive and shit!
My parents unfortunately weren't loving, they were incredibly restrictive and my father did beat me once with a whip, thankfully though that got them taken away from me (I think he even had to go to jail for a few days because of it). I know I got lucky though, if I didn't I probably would've had to stay with them until I turned 18.
