...that is... so weird. So the bed just sits there up top.
Does the Z-axis motor just... sit there idle for those first 5-7 layers?
Does the Z-axis motor work smoothly after the inexplicable big jump? Does the plate move smoothly up and down other than that one area?
A couple of things I would do:
This might be a firmware corruption issue on your printer. I have a 3 V2 not a 5 Pro, but you should still be able to reload the printer's firmware. I would definitely start with that.
I don't think this will fix your problem though you never know: ditch creality slicer, it's just an older version of Cura and is missing some stuff. Get Cura instead. This will also give you the advantage of basically ignoring all your old slicer settings, giving you a fresh slicer start, so if it is a slicer thing, that should demonstrate that it is in fact a slicer thing.
seems like it was the wrong firmware. im just printing a simple flow test and its actually building on the z layer. thank you.
oh hells yeah :D
congratulations and good luck on it continuing to work!
yeah it just sits there not moving. its smooth and works fine otherwise, if i go to move z axis its fine up and down. but itll just sit there when im printing until about layer 5-7 and then it drops massively. ill try cura and flashing the firmware again. it makes no sense to me either.
