Whooosssh, beehaw being there is the joke. They see themselves as better than other Lemmy instances and have defederated some other large instances

We need a r/whoooosh on lemmy

Except isn't the truth that they experienced harassment from other open-registration instances and in lack of better moderation tools chose to defederate for the time being?

That’s what they said but there wasn’t much harassment, mainly they were preempting this.

My thoughts as well.. I mean, come on, how much harrasement can you get on a platform that has just begun filling with users and barely has 10K users... we'd have to all be in on it, like "hey, everyone, let's fuck with beehaw, he he he 😁".

How do you know there wasn't much harassment?

Beehaw defederate almost 400 other instances, do they immediately defed if one or two users harass them?

At some point they stopped playing whack-a-mole and imported some blocklist for Mastodon

What in the AF πŸ˜‚.

Why not just run a forum, why choose Lemmy...

I bet they were waiting to fill with users after the migration and just close shop...

The moderation activity has increased exponentially the last few weeks, what do you mean specifically?

You can find this information for yourself by searching Lemmy. Can’t be arsed with this back and forth when the information is freely available, the mod logs prior to the defederation shows no mass user ban on their instance. Which is what you would expect to see to justify the defederation. They also said they were defederating because of the fact Lemmy.world and sh.itjustworks didnt require email verification on sign up.

Way to kill a joke.

Good day to you, adieu
