I’m building it using the latest and greatest Apple tech. Only available for iOS 17 😈

Just to add a couple of things to your great list that I’m missing by from Apollo:

  • Hide posts I’ve read (eg posts I’ve scrolled past are marked as ‘read’ and then hidden on next refresh. Ideally with an option to view / search those ‘read’ posts
  • Option to open the built-in. Bowser view in Reader mode—this solves much of the trash mobile sites with endless cookie pop ups and ads

To your second point: already done. As for the first one, I can definitely add that as an option but one of my favorite features from Apollo was that it told you when there were new comments since the last time you opened the post. What if it hid the post unless there were new comments in the thread? Maybe have that as an option as well. I’m really going for extreme levels of customization & I love the idea

Maybe I’m being dense, but where’s the option to always use Reader mode? I can see for each individual website once opened, but that’s a Safari setting not a memmy one…

Btw, I only found this when you added Inbox. Fantastic :)

More thought on hiding posts:

  • Definitely should be an option. Manual could be swipe left on post. My home feed currently has 2 large stickied posts at the top and id love to hide them permanently. Id also like the option of hide when opened and hide on scroll like Apollo.
  • In wefwef.app’s Profile tab, you can see your Posts and Comments. Something like that with an extra option for Hidden posts (again, like Apollo), perhaps with the possibility of notifications / icons showing if there is new activity on them?
  • Replies to your own comments still in the inbox, so much less chance of missing those. So much potential to keep improving. I’m working with several apps side by side atm, but definitely keep coming back to Memmy. Except for this reply, as finding my comment was easier in wefwef :(
