image is of a watch showing the numbers 1234 sequentially - the amount of times I look at my watch and I see this is bizarre. And, no, I don't mean once or twice a day...like, I don't see it's 1:23 or 3:45 all the time...

to me it says lunch time :(

I am a simple person.

It's 11:11 for me

Same! Or 11:11 as another has said. I'm wondering what a science type explanation would be. Like if it's a form of confirmation bias, where because our human brains are good at finding patterns then that's what we see more or something. Idk, I'm not science type person, just potat.

It does seem a bit like a kind of frequency illusion aka Baader Meinhof phenomenon... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequency_illusion

Thankyou! That seems like a good explanation of it.

The Synchronicity Theory is an interesting one, basically it's the belief that meaningful coincidences are more than just chance. Say you're thinking about a friend who you haven't seen or spoken to for years, and then they call you out of the blue. It also covers seeing the same numbers repeatedly, including the time on a clock or watch.

Synchronicity eh 🤔 I like it! Starts humming "King of Pain"

No problem. May have doxxed myself as I get around in one of their t-shirts quite often.

But then again, Lemmy is tiny.
