Bad take. Atlanta was saddled with ownership that wouldn't have succeeded anywhere.

Or it's just not as big of a hockey market as many other cities. I completely understand why Bettman is against additional Canadian teams (even if I disagree with him) but is Atlanta really the best we can do?
I'd personally love to see Houston get a team, but I think the League would put a team in Honolulu before they get to Houston.
I'm not sure Houston would be much better than Atlanta. I live in Austin, and when I ask people if they watch the Dallas Stars, they ask if I mean the Dallas Cowboys. When I explain that the Stars are a hockey team, they look at me puzzled for a second and say, "Dallas has a hockey team?" What's worse is when I explain that we have a hockey team (albeit a minor league team), they are just as shocked.
