Are you fusing things, like monster parts, to your weapons? This will make a huge difference.
Other than that, just play the game. Do shrines to get more hearts and stamina. Explore, then you'll automatically find better armour, or you'll be able to buy it.
Some mini-bosses, like lynels or Gleeoks, will simply be too hard for you know. Others, like Hinoxes, should be doable if you know their weak spot.
I fuse everything. What is a gleeok?
My kid fuses everything, fusing a bow to a stick doesn't do enough good, horns are great for fusing. (I had this conversation minutes ago)
Gleeoks are a bigger mini boss, think of the multi headed dragon in the original Zelda game.
Black boko horns are hard to get but amazing for fusion. Are gleeoks common? I'm interested now
Gleeoks are the three head dragons (not the spirit dragons). One is on the giant bridge above lake Hylia.
Gleeoks appear in specific spots only, and there aren't very many in the game. They're more rare than Hinox. When I first said hello to one, not knowing what its attacks were, I died within seconds. I got stun-locked and murdered. So, if you see a giant, three-headed dragon just standing around, save your game before introducing yourself.
