Hell I'm 31 and still do this with my own father.
"They're making memes about this show Columbo... ever hear of it?"
And my dad's like "I love Columbo!"
My dad is who introduced me to columbo, but knows nothing about Internet culture, so the conversation with us would be more like:
"They're making memes about Columbo!"
"What's a meme?"
