Actor Michael Imperioli says he has banned "bigots and homophobes" from watching The Sopranos and other shows and movies he has starred in following the Supreme Court's decision that a Christian graphic artist can refuse to work with same-sex couples.

Imperioli, 57, shared a screenshot of a news story about the ruling on Instagram, with the headline "Supreme Court protects web designer who won't do gay wedding websites."

The actor, known for his role portraying Christopher Moltisanti in the HBO drama, slammed the court's decision in his caption, writing that he had "decided to forbid bigots and homophobes from watching The Sopranos, The White Lotus, Goodfellas or any movie or TV show I've been in."

He added: "Thank you Supreme Court for allowing me to discriminate and exclude those who I don't agree with and am opposed to. USA ! USA!"

Responding to comments on his post, Imperioli wrote that "hate and ignorance is not a legitimate point of view" and "America is becoming dumber by the minute."

@Lovstuhagen I hate that term homophobe. We don't fear homosexuality. We have moral objections to it.

Fully agreed.

I also dislike it when they try to attack the 'love the sinner, hate the sin' mentality - absolutely ungrateful that we are trying to reach out to them as people and dead set on labeling us as hateful.

To be fair, years of having troon acceptance shoved in my face i am happy to be labeled as hateful. I'm not going to physically attack any of the wrong bodied weirdos (although i wouldn't help one either) but I have no problem with using "pRobLeMAtiC HatE sPEeCh" and memeing about their comically repulsive appearanc, mental issues, transition regret, and the statistical probability to off themselves.

LOL I am OK with some of this, of course... But... I do think it is legitimately tragic when they kill themselves. We are all made in the image of God... and I think that the humor of the thing... is a persuasive way to try to save people from it.

It's a really bad situation for these people, IMO.

I feel for the young children and teens just stepping into adulthood. They are being manipulated and groomed when their minds are most malleabl, almost making it so they don't have a true choice. I don't have any sympathy for adults though; they are either weak minded or want to be accepted for someone other than themselves, but ultimately its still adults making their own shit choices. We should save the kids from their warped parents, teachers, and society but let the adults deal with the consequences of their dumb decisions.

I would say homophobic is more on par with the word hydrophobic. Homophobes are repelled by homos, not afraid of them.

Exactly. "phobic" means afraid of something. What they actually mean is that people who have some issue with homosexuals are secretly afraid that they're homosexual themselves. When you realize that then "transphobic" makes even less sense as a word.

I might be "snake-phobic" but I have no fear that i might start slithering around on the ground.

No, phobic means they are afraid of them. Ie you have a fear gays or trans people going to damage society or your life. That's a phobia. What you were referring too is internalized homophobia, when someone knows they are gay and are afraid to admit it so they suck random guys off and hate themselves while running as a republican and passing anti gay legislation.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It's not a phobia. An actual phobia is a fear you know isn't even rational but your body does it and you can't stop it. This applies to literally none of this. Gay/Trans are just annoying because they claim to want equality but what they want is to be a star.

You want equality? Here is equality: if I don't know you I don't care about you or what happens to you, so just STFU. I'm not going to knock on your door an ask if gay/trans/whatever. Don't make me constantly hear about it. Just melt into the other billions of don't know/don't care.
