Gee what a great idea, limiting how much a user can engage with your platform which depends on user engagement. Elon really is a genius.
I mean, to be fair, how many real people can post 600 times a day?
It looks like the limit is on reading posts, not posting itself. It's way easier to read that many posts, especially if you're glued to your phone and scrolling past dozens of uninteresting tweets at a time.
That being said, this limit is likely in place to stop web scraping or some such workaround to the need-an-account-to-view-stuff policy.
Looks like their $1bil contract with Google Cloud Services is up and they're scaling back as much as possible until they can find a new solution. Elon, you cheap fucking moron.
If anything it will probably reduce the number of people that each user follows because they don't want to waste a view on something not terribly interesting.
