Lament to a Technological Masterpiece

I'm missing my old CD player,
It had a tape deck too.
Where it came from I don't remember,
But it was grey and transparent blue.

Recorded hits off the built-in radio,
Replayed until the tape wore thin.
I guess I sailed some shallow seas,
Before I knew what it was to swim.

If only my PC had a CD player,
I'd burn them all into ones and zeros;
My collection inscribed to the aether.
A future-task for a flush Stud-Hero.

Does anyone know/remember this CD? My Dad had a copy when I was a kid (90s/2000s) and I was able to buy this from the ~~VicPol~~ Blue Ribbon website (which I was stoked about). Anyway, if you're able to get a copy, it has some of the best covers :)

Not that particular CD, which surprised me because I think my folks had every other police band CD you can get!

Haha this was the only police band CD we had haha

It took me ages to find it (when I was looking during the pandemic) because I couldn't remember the name of it! I kept searching for 'victoria police band covers' and Google kept showing me the bloody pipe-band, which this is not. I finally found an image of the album art and was able to search the name (Offbeat). I ended up buying it from this site https://copshop.com.au/product/cd-off-beat-live/ which apparently is the official Blue Ribbon Foundation shop site lol.

Definitely reccomend this one, especially if you haven't heard it before.
Edit: had a look inside and I think this one was released in 1999, the 'year of the older persons' apparently, and so they did this album to honor? old people? idk. the songs are great!
