Day 11 of exercise program. I discovered today that my program has a water drinking tracker and reminder, which is grouse because I've always been bad at keeping up my water intake. It also has a calorie burn counter on the pedometer bit. I like to have a low sugar alcoholic ginger beer when I've finished work, and it was interesting to note that even though it's low sugar it would take me half a day of walking to burn it off!
I've got 80kg of spuds again todayπͺ Have a great day everyone!
You're inspiring me to get off my toosh, so thanks for that! I finally started doing my 5 minute warm up routine ala fitness blender today. I used to do it every day.
Yay! Good on you! I love quick routines because they're so much easier to make the time for, as opposed to me trying to carve time out of my day for a gym session or something.
Take those calorie burn things with a grain of salt, they are way over simplified and dont really mean much. You can calculate your base metabolical rate with online calculators which take your exercise etc into account and that will give you a rough calorie amount that you can aim for each day for maintenance. Then you just need to adjust down or up a few 100 calories depending on if you want to gain or lose weight. Thats obviously a simple way to look at things but it will be significantly more accurate than a calorie burn function on a pedometer
Cool, thanks for the tip, might give it a look tonight. Always wondered about the whole "steps" thing anyway. Like a leisurely meandering stroll at a Sunday market and a "shit I'm late for work" walk are both counted the same, but to me it'd seem obvious that one will burn more fat than the other.
