So if they can’t find a deal, does he just stay and have a whole city know he wants out?

I mean, yeah. He is still under contract, and they don't want him to go for free. This happened with Kevin Durant last offseason. He might just stay out and at the trade deadline have better luck finding a deal. I am sure neither side wants that, but it's a real possibility.
