If the EU will be the one to take this cunt down a peg then great. But I won't get my hopes up that this doesn't end with a slap on the wrist and money changing hands to make it go away.

Twitter is just burning money every minute as it is. Even if the EU only fines them a symbolic 1 Euro, it's going to keep losing money. The important thing is that the fines / punishments will probably get bigger if Twitter continues to break the rules, so it's likely going to stop.

How's it going to stop? A responsible, intelligent company would hire moderators and chase off the Nazis. But, Musk will most likely just make Twitter unavailable in Europe. That will just accelerate the doom spiral.

The fine will likely be a percentage of annual global turnover... since twitter doesn't make much money it won't be a huge fine relative to the amount of money Musk has, however it'll just make it that much harder to become profitable and the bad publicity will cause problems.

Best case scenario is they comply with the law and maybe the X network will be good again. I wouldn't hold my breath on that though.
