So once upon a time, a BD colleague snapped this at market.

Bit later, I tried to sort it in GIMP.

Hahaha, good stuff, especially The Beatles / Abbey Road one.

Looks good, the face swap is hilarious! How did you get it into a straight angle?

Thanks. *phew*
It's a GIMP function, a counterpart of an identical PhotoShop tool.

I forget the exact name of the tool, but you start by conceiving a trapezoid, then keep dragging the corners around until things finally look 'square / rectangular.' You also have to adjust for 'fisheye,' normally.

I used to reconstruct backglasses for the virtual pinball scene, and GIMP was precious for this kind of thing.

Somewhere in the archives I believe I have more of the 'Abbey Road' pics. I even have a song to go along with it, if you like:

Interesting, that sounds like a powerful tool to "straighten" almost any 2d surface you have a picture from a slant angle of.

Cool! Although I was never good at playing pinball, I always found these forefathers of video games pretty interesting.

What is that? It´s chill, a bit funky and has nice synths, at the same time I can´t really put it anywhere. Reminds me just a little of Dabeull, who slaps much harder and is more funky of course.

Mate!
Give me your favorite Dabeull tune right away... please?

Noooo, don´t make me choose!!! Honestly, I tried but I couldn't. So instead I give you this impressively well recorded live concert:

Dabeull Band - Live in Paris

In general, I really like his vocoder singing and also his comedic side, so those two are definitely among my favorites:

Dabeull - Johnny Indastudio

Dabeull - INDASTUDIO Redux (I laughed so hard, I almost fell off my chair)

While we´re at it, check out this, the sound is so incredible:

L'Impératrice — Anomalie bleue

Also, just in case you don´t know him yet, I very much recommend checking out Thundercat!

I hope it´s not too much, I guess I got in a flow state again, sorry! 😅

Awesome and excellent, wow...
Note: Whilst simultaneously finding it "excellent & awesome,"
Uh... as Harvey Pekar liked to say, hahaha. 😅

No no no, that colossal idiot can sod right off.
Like-- when I'm up on stage, there's a fine line betwixt balancing any little talent I might possess versus showing off, like that moron tried to do just there.

Goodness, that "song" absolutely blows chunks,
And Yes-- I get the joke. I get the joke, I get the joke and... I GET THE JOKE.

Sorry mate, but I feel like that dude is a complete idiot when it comes to that song. I do enjoy his other stuff, tho.

EDIT: And never heard of Andy Warhol, is it not?

Relax mate, no reason to get so negative. My comment was about the live concert in the first place. I put in the other two Dabeull links just for laughs. So how did you like the Dabeull concert, the L’Impératrice song and Thundercat?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Relax mate, no reason to get so negative.

I'm sorry for my harshness right there, Nackt Mull.
I liked Dabeull's work plenty on the whole, and thank you for sharing! ^^

Eh, what is that phrase about an ungrateful giftee...? :S

So, no doubt this is a personal bias based on some years of going up on stage and performing for people-- like, I'm cool with funny concepts, outrageous mindfucks, and all that sort of thing. To me, that's the domain of 'wild artistry in the bush.' Meaning, it's beyond judgement, so maybe I crossed the line there about that one song.

TBH, I'm hugely insecure about boring people, and... so that's on me. 😅

It´s cool, I did not take it personal, so never mind.
