As an ethno-linguistic minority, who is witnessing the death, abuse and appropriation of their culture, while also having to live with shame and in an identity crisis, why should I be in favor of a socialism/communism, when state that follow these ideologies engage in majoritarianism and nationalism, which is but a characteristic behaviour of imperialism (Russification and Sinicization)?
Socialist revolution in a colonial state must be led by the oppressed, not the oppressors. This is clear from the analysis, though many socialists have failed to understand this. Decolonization is critical for revolution in colonized contexts (the entire "Western" hemisphere, Africa, Oceania, much of Southeast Asia, etc).
Of note, Stalin's work on the National Question was the recognition that ethno-linguistic groups represent nations that need their own centralized government that can collaborate with other centralized governments, hence the creation of entire republics under the Soviet system to give those ethno-linguistic groups power over their lives, culture, and politics. Socialists, on the whole, will always be the better choice for ethno-liguistic minorities than capitalists.
