TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.
Fun will now commence.

only that the tricobalt devices were of sufficient explosive magnitude (22 terachochranes each) to obliterate the array satisfactorily. it was her supposition that saved as speculation that there was a subspace tear based on incomplete sensor data.
Tuvok provided no more information than was in the pilot episode which we all saw for ourselves. He merely reiterated it in the episode The Voyager Conspiracy.
She was asking why the yield was so high because of her supposition, but he tells her that it was because that was what was needed by his calculations, and he wasn't 100% sure even that that would have been enough.
The not being sure it was enough is the new information. If he wasn't sure it would work, it would give a reason why they didn't leave it up to a remote detonation.
I don’t accept this premise
not accepting your premise, I can’t accept you conclusion
Then perhaps you should watch the damn episode again.
or, perhaps, I don’t care for you attitude.
take your pettiness and silly fighting elsewhere. this is a place to have fun, not start silly arguments.
edit: keep it chill here
Whatever dude. 🙄
buddy, this is a shitposting meme community. if you can’t keep it chill and fun, take it someplace else.
if you want to be serious, there’s a daystominstitute community somewhere around here… but this isn’t the place for it
People are allowed to have a discussion and expect a serious one. People are also allowed to be upset. However both @[email protected] and you have crossed the line a bit here on Rule 2. Not enough to warrant any actual action from a moderator but enough for me to say that y'all should really just split and have this conversation tomorrow if you want. Contrary to popular belief, I don't like doing mod stuff. I don't want to here.
Hope y'all both have a good day or evening, depending on your time zone, and that things go well for both.
🖖
I too specifically recall Tuvoc saying ‘and I wasn’t sure that would be enough’… we can postulate that this ‘new information’ is the reason they didn’t try a remote detonation. That being said, the idea of trying a remote detonation was never discussed in either episode. Either a) they didn’t think of that option or b) they considered that option but decided to stay in the delta quadrant to ensure the array was destroyed.
I am leaning toward a), because for b) to be a reasonable explanation then we should have heard something about why a remote detonation wouldn’t work. Saying ‘not sure if it was enough to destroy the array’ is still a leap away from ‘and so we had to stay in the delta quadrant to see if it worked’
