“BD” refers to Franco-Belgian comics, but let's open things up to include ALL Euro comics and GN's. Euro-style work from around the world is also welcome!

* BD = "Bandes dessinées"
* BDT = Bedetheque
* GN = graphic novel
* LBK = Lambiek
* LC = "Ligne claire"

The above art is "Le bain public," by Thierry Martin.

So, we just had a server / code glitch seemingly delay (or hide?) some content, but then when fixed, it looks to me like federation has actually been improved. For example: offsite instances and links (like WP, fandom, and even mindoki.com) had not been showing up properly in Windows' Chrome for me, until just now.

If anyone else has been through issues like these, I'd greatly appreciate that feedback.

I set up a little script yesterday that reloads an “all” mindokin page every minute or so,

This reminds me that when I load this instance (Lemm.ee) after a pause of some time (maybe 20min - 1hr) it's quite slow at first. But once it gets 'locked in,' it's very fast for awhile.

It's almost like it requires many server hops at first, then it figures out how to re-route much faster to my ISP for a period of time, before eventually forgetting again.

I hope techie-people are talking about this stuff somewhere, because it seems pretty important for attracting more people to Lemmy.

Yeah, when you finish wrapping your head around the federating idea it shouldn't be that hard to serve posts IMO, but it's experimental software so I guess it'll take some time :-)
