Welcome to the Superbowl²!

Two teams of owls are ready to battle it out over the next day and a half to see which reigns supreme!

Rules are simple.

Team play is the name of the game. Each round, a new group of owls will compete for your upvotes. Sometimes you'll see 1v1, while other times it will be up to 6v6. Just click the up arrow for which team you feel put on the better show.

Every 2-3 hours or so another round will start. As long as the post title shows "ACTIVE" voting is still open. Once a round is over, I'll change the title to update the score.

If the match was close and fierce, 7 points will be awarded for a touchdown.

If it's a pretty easy win (difference of 10 percent-ish), 3 points will be given as a field goal.

Highest score wins!

Now meet the teams.

For the San Franciscowl Bay Owls:

  • Pel's Fishing Owl
  • Rusty Barred Owl
  • Eastern Screech Owl
  • Flammulated Owl
  • African Wood Owl
  • Ural Owl
  • Buffy Fish Owl
  • Sooty Owl
  • Pharaoh Eagle Owl
  • Magellanic Horned Owl
  • Snowy Owl
  • White Faced Scops

And the lineup for the Kansas City Screech is:

  • Christmas Boobook
  • Chestnut Backed Owl
  • Spotted Wood Owl
  • Buff Fronted Owl
  • Cloud Forest Pygmy Owl
  • Blakiston's Fish Owl
  • Whiskered Screech Owl
  • Barn Owl
  • Boreal Owl
  • Northern Hawk Owl
  • White Browed Owl
  • Galapagos Shirt Eared Owl

That's a whole bunch of classics, fan favorites from Owl of the Year, and also a bunch of newcomers ready to become your next favorite owl! There's some really good ones that I can't believe we haven't covered yet!

Time to begin!

The KC Screech have won the coin toss and will be receiving the kickoff!

We're starting off hot, with a big 6v6 match! Upvote the best team now, and check back soon for the next match!

Yes, this round ended up very nice. I randomized the teams on a grid, and for each round I rolled a 6 sided die to get number of players, and then a 12 sided die to choose the participants.

I think you get to see each owl at least 3 times, I may have ensured that was the case, but otherwise I tried to keep my own influence out of it. So some will be up 2 matches in a row, but everyone gets about equal play.
