For Google, the very thought of having to run something that could be available for Android users to use in a fashion similar to Apple Pay Cash, but may not be used all the time is enough to make them go bankrupt apparently.

I mean, yeah, it's not really that important. There's plenty of other money transfer services. It's just the gesture

Who knows, maybe this will become a Google exclusive RCS feature

I would love to have an open standard for sending money instead of exclusive systems, but that obviously isn't going to happen in the United States anytime soon unless we all decide to adopt cryptocurrency or something (which also isn't going to happen, and I can't really say I blame anyone. That stuff is difficult)
