This is the "official" Fediverse community for all things pro wrestling!

Come discuss pro wrestling! Any company or era is welcome.

Please ensure you have NSFW posts enabled or you may miss out on some threads. Bots are not used in this community.

Rules: (Click to expand)

1. Be Civil.

Users are expected to be civil and inclusive towards one another at all times. Remember the person on the other side of the screen. Hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and other inflammatory language is prohibited.

2. Keep content related to wrestling.

Any content posted should at least be related to pro wrestling somehow.

3. Spoilers.

Do not spoil events for people. If an event is going on, please keep discussion contained to the/a discussion thread for 24h after the event. Do not post spoilers in titles during this period. Use the spoiler function when you need to, it's there for a reason. Should your post involve a url to a spoiler (Twitter, YouTube video, etc) please mark the thread as NSFW as well so thumbnails are blurred.

4. Vague/Editorialized Title.

Please keep the titles of any articles you post clear, understandable, and indicative of what the article states within. It's ok to alter the title if the original is clickbait and confusing, or contains a spoiler like a debut that just occurred that day, but do not add your own thoughts to it.

5. Sexualized Content/'Plot'.

Please do not post any pornographic, 'creep shot', or similar adult-related material to the community (regardless of connection to wrestling). Wrestling content that involves sexualized content (in storylines/matches/promos) is fine, as well as photo's wrestlers post to their own social medias. Butt-shots you take with your cell phone at a house show aren't.

6. Banned Source(s).

Due not necessarily to the content of their reporting, but to their harassing and doxxing of users, the following news sources, journalists, and content creators are not permitted to be posted on SquaredCircle in any context - including direct links, articles, social media, and reports that cite only those sources:

  • WrestleVotes
  • RingSideNews
  • Brad Shepard
  • Billi Bhatti and "The Dirty Sheets"
  • Any post or article citing one of the above as a primary source.

This community has been made as a backup for the Fediverse's main pro wrestling community (SquaredCircle on kbin) should anything go wrong and kbin and/or Ernest disappears.

We may be moving here full time. If you read this, please visit the following thread on kbin for more details:

Hey guys, tried posting this as a response to a federation query but i keep getting 5xx errors on kbin.social so thought i'd post it here for visibility.

Hey, lemmy.zip admin here - what you're seeing is a side effect of how lemmy works vs some of the stuff we do on lemmy.zip to promote communities using a tool called Lemmy Federate - basically all our communities are federated out to 27 other instances and the comments etc should pull through without issue there (reddthat, feddit uk, midwest.social etc - full list is here (currently [email protected] is at the top) - the other instances (lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, lemm.ee etc) don't actually know about the community because no one from those instances has subscribed, so no information is given to those instances UNTIL someone subscribes or searches it for the first time on that instance, at which point its a blank slate - its the same with users, hence why neon_carnivores comment might not show on other instances - its because they're not aware of them as a user on lemmy.zip yet. It should balance out over time as more instances become aware of the community.

You can see live federation stats for lemmy.zip here.

PS - thats a really terrible explanation from me about federation on lemmy there but tl;dr its how federation on lemmy works - it just takes time until a few users are subscribed from each instance, then its good to go.

ETA - i can see upvotes pulling through properly too now on lemmy.ml as i upvote or downvote on lemmy.zip so federation going forwards should work fine...

That was actually a fantastic explanation and one I forgot (it's been a long 8 months lmao).

Just checked the community via lemmy.ml and I can see my comment and yours that I'm responding to (still nothing for Neon's tho), and when checking via dbzer0 I only see yours and not mine or Neon's. The joys of federation! lol

[–] Demigodrick 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

yeah, at this point with the intricacies of federation unfortunately neon's comment won't show up to others, but going forwards on those instances it should be fine (lemmy.world is still on an old lemmy version so thats hit and miss anyway, but everyone else should be fine!)

[–] GeekFTW 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Perfect. I copied your comment into the kbin magazines thread about it so the others can see it, thanks!

Ah great thank you :)

If you do decide to come over to Lemmy.zip, you are more than welcome here!
