It's worth noting that Kbin is federating now; they've got over 100 pages of communities to scroll through.
Yeah, I've been exploring kbin a bit as well.. I do miss having a dedicated app though.
Plus I like it here so it would be nice to keep this as my home base!
In case I was unclear, you can keep this as your home base, now - you can subscribe to kbin communities from Lemmy as of (I believe) yesterday afternoon.
True but actually using kbin instead gives access to both beehaw and lemmy.world for instance.
It’s pretty cool to have so many options. We can have one account that sees more instances, or several separate accounts that see all those instances, or create our own instance: population 1 that sees all.
It's like discovering the internet for the first time all over again. :D
That's how I went. Time will tell if it eats storage etc, but so far I'm loving the control I have over who to federate with.
Yeah, from Kbin really interesting to view this drama from the outside. We can see posts from both sides right now.
I hope we're able to avoid drama ourselves in the long run. I don't mind at all seeing it from a distance, but it would suck to be a direct part of it.
Is there an easy way to search through all the kbin communities at once?
You can go to Kbin, click Magazines, and browse - when you find one you want to sub to, just rightclick -> copy link, and search for it on your instance.
Thanks! That's what I was doing, just wondering if there was some elegant solution I was mising.
