I cannot wait for Divinity 3 but based on their earlier interviews it seems like it's not going to be their immidiate next game but rather they will go with a different IP. Div3 will likely come after that. I don't have a source at hand.

I saw it as well, they indicated it was going to be something different. Maybe a departure from fantasy rpgs to a different genre? They could try their hands at a cyberpunk or like a psychadelic high fantasy

Almost has to be, right? Take all the success from BG3, put it into new game where you have full creative control, profit?

Hard to imagine they would try to make something radically different when they can essentially reuse the same engine and genre/setting and make more profit that way.
