Any replies welcome, but I’m primarily in search of a new iOS client. I heard Raccoon is similar but last I checked it was Android only.

Voyager doesn't support Lemmy 18.x anymore, and Beehaw is getting ready to leave Lemmy so won't upgrade servers beyond 18.

The "solution" is Native version of Voyager (download an older version), but that means no more upgrades.

I haven't been really active on Beehaw for a while now. Where can I read more about Beehaw leaving Lemmy?

anything of importance is generally going to be mirrored on the Docs page, so for example: Beehaw, Lemmy, and A Vision of the Fediverse

I tried to look on their home page and didn't see any stickied post about that, nothing on their mastodon recently seems to say anything about it, I'd feel a little awkward joining their discord just to spy about it since I'm not actually a Beehaw member, I'm on Kbin, I just enjoy their posts and community, I would also be very interested to know if they're confirmed moving shop.

Thanks so much for the link to that. I can understand the issues that the admins are dealing with in regards to Lemmy as a platform. Though there's a very likely chance, it looks like they haven't solidified whether they're leaving or exactly what they'll transition to, but I fundamentally enjoy the philosophy Beehaw shoots for, so I'm interested to see what goes on next regardless.

We are leaving the Lemmy platform. And we (the admins) know which platform that we are moving to. We just haven't made a public announcement yet. That is coming soon.

I appreciate the communication. I'll be looking out for the info, then!

Ah so in other words even if Voyager kept supporting 18.x Lemmy it wouldn't work anyway because you will move to another platform?

That's ok though, I am happy to use it standalone, though I will be sad about losing Voyager which is really an amazing app.

I'm looking forward to seeing where you're going with this. Though I will still use other Lemmy instances.

I'm almost certain that the platform we are moving to will be compatible with all the current Lemmy apps. If that's the case, then you'll be able to use Voyager again with Beehaw.

Oh wow that's even better! Thanks!

Just because I seem to be out of the loop, is there an official community to see such communication? I saw the blog post about the reasoning, but it would be nice if there was a community to follow to see such official communication

You'd see such things as pinned posts here at Beehaw.

Yeah this was news to me too.

Having said that though, I created an account on lemmy.ml at first and the attitudes there are weird. I think the description of "tankies" is pretty accurate. I don't like extreme-anything whether it's left or right. And because this is the main platform of the Lemmy devs I can see how this ends up permeating a lot of the discussions.
