Every house that's more than a few decades old has had people die inside it. The US is young enough that it seems rare (though probably isn't), but in any country that's been lived in for many hundreds of years all their old houses have had multiple people die in them.
"We've redecorated this house to how it looked over 50 years ago."
"No one was alive then!"
But, surely old houses can't be more than fifteen years old?
