Back on Tuesday, 343 released the Squad Battle playlist - an 8v8 playlist reminiscent of BTB modes from past Halo games, with Forge remakes of Valhalla, Rat's Nest, and Zanzibar/Last Resort.

Personally this playlist is the most fun I've had playing Infinite since release. The three maps are very well-made and faithful to the originals, while still implementing features for Infinite's unique sandbox and characteristics that make the maps work.

All the reactions I've seen to the playlist have been largely positive and it seems to have the quickest queue times/highest population out of all the current playlists over the past week. I sincerely hope that 343 makes this a permanent playlist, while continuing to add new maps or modes to it.

I wanted to ask what everyone's opinion was on the playlist, maps, and modes for Squad Battle! What do you love about it? Is there anything you'd want changed? Should it stay as a permanent playlist?

I haven’t had as much time to play it as I’d like, but every match has been a blast. My only complaint is the Wasp sometimes appearing in place of the banshees on the Valhalla remake.

I've played a bunch of it, and have to agree on that gripe. I find the Wasp over-tuned on any of the maps, but it's especially jarring on Valhalla. At least there's no cliffs for it to hide behind like on other maps, but I still think Valhalla should be Banshees and Wraiths only. The Scorpion is also unfortunately out of place in Valhalla.
